Ivan Plachkov, a real Ukrainian Kolonist, is engaged in winemaking for many years. It’s hard to say that in winemaking, as well as in power engineering, there are any secrets left for him. But having visited land of Champagne this year, Kolonist came up with the decision that still wines are not the limit. As the saying goes in England: “Never enough.” So Kolonist went to England, Kent county, a small town Tenterdem with a centuries-old history, where the royal standard sparkling wines have been produced only for several decades. You may ask “Why?” Well, “live and learn”.
Ivan Plachkov spent a week, working as a plain worker at the wineries in England, – he helped to set bottling line, loaded bottles with wine, prepared kieselguhr for a kieselguhr filter, was checking bottling while disgorging and corking. In a word, he went through the whole process of sparkling wines production.
The week was really productive, not taking into account scratches, small burns and corns on hands. “All these, – says Ivan Plachkov, – was worth studying from best English winemakers and then passing on the experience in Ukraine. All for you, dear admirers of Kolonist wines!”
Kolonist TM team is proud of and expresses their deep admiration to Ivan Plachkov!
