Few years ago the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belgium to Ukraine, Mark Vink, after visiting Kolonist winery, said: “Kolonist is the best Ukrainian ambassador in Europe!” When he learned that our wines have been represented twice in the Parliament of Great Britain, at official events in the Brussels and Warsaw; was also represented at the official events at the embassies of Ukraine in honour of national holidays, he personally decided to visit us!
His words about our wine are the great honour, and we will do our best to justify this trust.
And this year the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin, finding time in his extremely busy schedule, has personally visited Kolonist winery (remember that it is located in Krynychne village, in the Danubian Bessarabia, in the South of the Odessa region, 750 km from Kyiv).

He had a look at our vineyards, carefully looked at the technical process and up-to-date equipment, he paid his attention to barriques (225-liter French oak barrels for wine aging) made from 100-year-old French oak from the best French manufacturers. And of course, we organised professional tasting of the whole range of Kolonist wines, including some samples of wines that are now stored only in the wine collection of Kolonist winery. As a person who loves wine and well-versed in wine, who is very experienced and understands the deep philosophy of wine, who tasted the world’s best wine, he highly estimated our wines, what we are very proud of.
But one of the most important achievements for us is that this year, at the official event of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in honour of the Ukrainian Flag Day and Independence Day, not without recommendations of the Minister, the whole diplomatic corps of Ukraine abroad, as well as Ambassadors of foreign countries to Ukraine were treated by the best Ukrainian wine “Kolonist” from authentic Ukrainian grape varieties – Odessa Black and Suhkolymanske.
These wines are made from the Ukrainian grape varieties, bred by the Ukrainian plant selection breeders, from the Ukrainian plants, grown up on the Ukrainian land, by the Ukrainian oenologists and winemakers.
Along with a pleasant surprise, we heard a lot of positive feedbacks and high opinions of quality of our wines.
Thanks to such events the brand “Ukrainian wine” is born; which “Kolonist” has been trying to create for the past several years.
“Kolonist” is a true Ukrainian wine!
Drink Ukrainian, be proud of Ukrainian, and love Ukraine!
