“Odessa black” (125 UAH) from the Kolonist winery is made of the Ukrainian grape variety. Odessa black was born by crossing 2 grape varieties: Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon. At Ivan Plachkov’s winery this well-balanced wine without extra acidity is produced from a local Odessa black grape variety. One more local wine – “Sukholymanske” white. Kolonist has made a very good vintage 2014 of this wine. Excellent price (125 UAH) for a pleasant taste and aroma: steppe grass, melon, muscat.
